Lake Jackson is a planned city in Brazoria County developed by Dow Chemical in the 1940s to house its workers, featuring wide curving streets, lush landscaping, and a well-maintained suburban character. Located about 55 miles south of Houston, it serves as the commercial center of the lower Brazoria County area with strong community amenities and Brazosport ISD schools.
